Boardman Motorsport is a team of 12 first year students who have formed a team to run a rally car in the 2003 Peugeot 205 Challenge. The car is now home to the BMS Motor Sports department.
Members or the team currently study BSc Motor Sports Engineering, learning the theory behind race and rally car design.
The team use the experience to learn more about the practical aspects of preparing and running a rally car.
Students have been able to use the rally car to take on design and manufacturing projects. Projects range from carbon foot rests to the design and development of a quick shift gear linkage.
Without the team, running of the car on these events would be impossible! Cheers lads!
