Dan Boardman, from Preston, established Boardman Motorsport in 2001. Dan started competing in his self-built Peugeot 205 and since then has competed in Subaru Impreza, Peugeot 206, Suzuki Swift and Ford Fiesta ST rally cars in both one-off events and in those forming part of the 205 Challenge, the Fiesta Sporting Trophy and the British Rally Championship.
Dan has a string of class-wins. His latest result, in August 2006, was another class win in the Rally Isle of Man, his first International rally (175 stage miles over 2 ½ days) where he also finished ahead of cars 2 classes above him.
Ultimate goal : British Rally Champion
Dan has worked extremely hard over the past 5 years to follow his dream of being a professional rally driver.
He has developed the support of Lancashire Press who regularly feature previews and reports of his success at each rally.
In 2006 he has attracted coverage in the National Motorsports press and on the Rally Isle of Man he attracted the attention of 2 further tyre sponsors.

Dan Boardman: Motorsport engineer
Daniel is a Motorsport engineer by profession and gained a lot of experience from his time at TVR Sports Cars, where his latest position was Project Manager for the TVR Sagaris. He designed the suspension, chassis, fuel system and worked with a number of tire manufactures and ride and handling experts to develop one of the best TVR’s ever built. “ TVR was a fantastic place to work as I had the opportunity to be involved with all areas of the car whilst being hands on. I also developed the cars ride and handling which involved road and track testing.” Since then Daniel has been offer work from LOTUS as Vehicle Project Engineer and recently Vehicle Dynamics Systems Manager for General Motors based at Milbrook test circuit.
Before TVR Daniel studied Motorsports Engineering at UCLAN University where he was technical director for the successful Formula UCLAN Formula Student project after his industrial placement with TVR where he worked on the Tuscan R, Typhon, T350, Tuscan and Tamora not to mention the season as a race engineer on the famous TVR Speed 12.
In the first 2 year as UCLAN Daniel and his college Alex Levick rebuilt an old Raynard Formula Ford and won the classic championship.
Dan has worked with Rally teams in New Zealand preparing Subaru’s built 2 Fiesta Sporting Trophy challenge cars, a Peugeot 205 challenge car with his UCLAN rally team, run Juno race cars and endurance stock super bikes.
Before University Daniel was a successful RC car driver and worked with his family for 10 years in the motor trade.
