The Car

The car was bought by BMS as a shell and roll cage, the engine and ancillaries were sponsored by Autobreakers of Preston and Lancashire Salvage of Blackburn

Safety

The safety equipment consists of regulation rollcage and plumbed in fire extinguisher. The Belts are 3inch 6point safety harnesses sponsored by Luke.

Brakes

The Brake system uses the standard servo, calipers and discs. The calipers were rebuilt with new seals and the standard discs were baked and ground to provide optimum efficiency. This was carried out by Alex Levick who worked for Alcon Components Ltd. The new brake lines are mounted inside the car using traditional copper pipe to keep weight and cost down. The flexible brake lines are braded stainless steel hose.

Suspension and Steering

The suspension is updated to the regulation Bilstine shocks and springs. The front struts are platform adjustable for ride height. The Anti Roll Bar is Standard. The strut top mounts are reinforced, with the option of excentric adjustment for caster and camber. The bottom outer ball joint is converted to a rose joint and the steering uses a quicker ratio rack.

Body

The body has been painted by Blackpool College who are sponsoring the team for body work repairs. It has been expertly painted by students in Peugeot White. The standard trim remains on the car.

Protection

The sump is protected by a 5mm thick reinforced aluminum guard manufactured by BMS and the underbody protection uses Carbon Kevlar  and Twintex shields, kindly supplied by epm technology. The moulds were designed and manufactured by students and BMS. Wheel arch protection is also supplied by epm technology.

Exhaust

The exhaust system is supplied by Magnex Exhaust Systems. The stainless steel exhaust has been excellently manufactured and allows easy removal for the service team. The down pipe is supplied by Arvin.

Engine

The engine is regulation standard and was rebuilt using vital new parts such all the gaskets and belts. The induction system is regulation K and N replacement. The ECU remains standard.

Drive Train

All shafts are rebuilt using new boots and seals. The differential is the regulation Quaiff LSD. The gear linkage has be up rated using stiffer linkages and all metallic ball linkages. The gearbox is prepared by KN Transmissions

Seats

The driver and co-drivers seats are sponsored by Corbeau. The co-drivers seat is placed as far backward as possible and securely mounted with welded in cross tubes.
